We want to see Pakistan as a safe, secure and progressive country, with choices (in education, health care and retirement) abound; where taxes are fair, and comprehensible; where everybody has the opportunity to go as far as their talents will take them; where government concentrates on its core functions recognizes its limits and shows favor to none, where law and justice dominates; where minorities, rich and the poor; weak and strong; men and women are treated equally and without any discrimination. We propose policies which assist in accomplishing these things.

‘Progress’ Think Tank is based in Karachi, Pakistan with a multi-disciplinary team of in-house researchers and field experts and a panel of international advisors.

1. Research:

‘Progress’ Think Tank undertakes long, medium and short term research contracts on scenarios and future options for countries, regions and sector. It delivers an output in the form of confidential or public reports, policy briefs, electronic updates and personal briefings at the board or committee level.

‘Progress’ Think Tank can prepare scenarios and options for global security issues as well as for most parts of Asia, including South Asia, the Gulf region, China and Central Asia. Its research oriented studies are most relevant for governments and corporation that want to engage with a new country, region, or sector and want an insight into the long-term prospects for a given geography.

‘Progress’ Think Tank was launched by Foundation for ‘Progress’ under its agenda of ‘Meeting Challenges – National and Global’ and under the ‘Progress’ program of ‘Building Partnerships, Promoting Sustainability’, the objective of which is to foster cooperation and build bridges between the international community, the government, the private sector and the civic society, all of which are critical to the successful implementation of all plans and policies.

‘Progress’ Think Tank is open to ideas for collaboration from international organizations, governments, foundations and think tanks with similar objectives to form new initiatives at the national and global levels.

‘Progress’ Think Tank is currently planning to introduce and organize a innovative seminars series for business and government leaders on the future state of the world, emerging global strategies, dynamics of globalization and sustainability, and on the critical issues of Inter-Provincial Coordination, Inter-State and global terrorism and the global economic scenario. These seminars will provide participants with analytical tools to develop strategic foresight and will show how to redefine their role in today’s fiercely competitive economies.

These seminars will be conducted as a blend of lectures, case studies and scenario workshops involving and engaging participants. Each seminar will be custom made focusing on one or more of the issues addressing the specific needs of the clients. The seminars series shall be unique in that they shall draw from a number of resources not available to the government or the general public.
