Public Policy Conferences

Introduction

Foundation for ‘Progress’ is pleased to organize, convene and host a number of national and international conferences and workshops on important national, regional and global issues, both on its own and in collaboration with the government, national and international corporate sector, and international organizations, including the UN systems. The objective of these events is to highlight and bring to fore front the important issues and problems of the time. The intent is to provoke dialogue and debate, encourage intellectual thinking and exchange of ideas and experiences, with the aim of determining their causes and possible remedies. In addition these events provides stakeholder interaction, understanding of each other's point of view, opening way for further and future cooperation.

These events also serves as an informative and educative forum updating the government and the private sector executives on the various current national and global issues, including the future state of the world, emerging global strategies, disarmament, dynamics of globalization and sustainability, and on the critical issues of global and interstate terrorism, global economy, climate change and peace. They also provide participants skills to develop strategic foresight and show how to redefine their role in today’s fiercely competitive world.

Twenty two such conferences / workshops have already been successfully held on different sectors of the national development, in the different provinces of the country. It is a matter of great pride and privilege that the high value output of these events including the suggestions and recommendations are utilized by the policy and decision makers in the public and the private sector and the international organizations. The utility of these events has been acknowledged and appreciated at the highest levels of the government including the Prime Minister and President of Pakistan.
